梁晞堯
b.1997, Hong Kong
Ashley Leung is an artist and educator living and working in France.
Her major artistic medium includes performance art, acting, dance,
sound, video, poetry and text. She mainly focuses on subjects such
as communication in the modern world, loneliness, human relationships,
bisexuality, family trauma and political constraints. Lately, she has been
exploring topics surrounding freedom of artistic expression and immigration.
She has taken part in various performance art festivals in Hong Kong, including
twice at Per.Platform Festival in Sept and Dec 2021, once at Arts for Resilience
Online Festival 2.0, Movement Festival at Eaton, The Performance is Happening:
20 Days Live, IN/Active, all in 2022, and blur blur day Live Performance in 2023.
She has also acted in numerous productions, such as《艙 To the Other Side》in
2022 produced by Phone Made Good Film and《爺爺來訪的夜 The Reticent Wave》
shown at Fresh Wave Film Festival in 2023. Moreover, with her two self-published
poetry zines, titled《And when I opened my eyes, I was looking right at myself》
and《I dreamt that you’d love me, but it was just a fallen fantasy》, she was
selected to sell her work at Booked: Hong Kong Art Book Fair in 2021.
Recently, she did a performance in Lyon, France for the first time, titled《我唔得
I can't anymore》exploring her identity as a Hongkonger. She is always looking
to expand her horizons, and connect with her audience through her works.
